Potato Volume#
For our first lab, Ximena decides to measure the density of a potato. They notice that it is an unsual shape and floats, so it is hard to calculate its volume. The potato’s mass is measured to be 216 g. They then cut the potato into a cube and measure that sides of the cube have length 4.78 inches and it’s mass is 60 g. For a uniform density potato, the mass and volume are proportional. (Useful conversions: 1 inch = 2.54cm, 1cm = \(10^{-2}\)m, 1g = \(10^{-3}\)kg)
